How To Make Firefox Load Faster

Have you ever noticed on how fast IE loads compared to Firefox? That is because XP preloads IE on its start-up.

After some research i /aka(person that wrote the story) found that Firefox developers have chosen not to tie up system resources before they really need it, but if you want it to load fast it is possible to achieve that by doing the same thing as what IE does.

1. Put your Firefox shortcut onto you start menu. Easier way of doing this is if you have a shortcut on your desktop
drag it onto you start button on your button left.

2. Right click on the shortcut in the start menu and then 'Properties'. Find the target section which should contain something similar [ "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" ] , add '/Prefetch:1' next to the address (without the inverted commas). SO the target box should contain what is in the square brackets as follows
[ "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1 ]

Now by doing this Windows XP should preload Firefox on its start-up, so Firefox loads as fast as IE. (works w/Flock also)

I did just this + i have tweaked the browser to get a faster pg load here's a link for the other tweaks i did & always have done does fine...

Please Note ... these tweaks work on Pc's for sure,
don't know if they apply to
Mac's or not ??

well a few months ago i was looking threw FileHippo for updates and saw this new browser powered by Mozilla so i ck'ed it out downloaded it 1st to a USB dr much to my surprise this browser isn't to bad i now run it more then Firefox 3.0.6 and have been using FF since 03 this browser could become my defualt instead of Firefox ? we'll see only time can tell ,although it does need a little work .

if u get lots of [ Pop up's ] or [ Pop under's ] like i do here's 2 things u can do 1st use STOPzilla , 2nd if u use Firefox like i do here's a tweak that i did yesterday Apr25 follow instructions >

To block pop-ups from plugins, open your Firefox browser.

1) Type about:config in the address field.
2) Right-click in the resulting config page somewhere and select New -> Interger. 3) Type privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins in the resulting dialog, hit OK,
4) Type 2 in the next dialog and you're all set.

This pref can actually take three values:

0: open allowed
1: the opened windows are treated as popups, but they're allowed to open (we limit the number of these types of popups)
2: the window is a popup, block it

Firefox ver 3.0beta 5 is out ! ,I'm trin it now the only thing so far that i can see that has changed that i Don't like so for is the Ad-on's the only ad-ons that work with the new browser is AI Roboform , DownThemAll , PDF Download , Send TAB URL , Taz-man's PlaceToolbar & FastFox .. all in all Firefox 3.0 beta5 even without fasterfox is in my epinion is at lease 1/2 faster has much faster pg loads,by the time the final comes out it's going to be a good browser ...Move out of the way Microsoft Windows .. if you want to ck it out click ~> Firefox 3.0 beta5

    Some or all site visitor counter's have been changed to reflect hit's by cookies the count was done by Total site hit's witch counted Reloads & Refreshes what ever
including bad pg loads.But just recently the company i was using for counters has updated there site so i am able to do the same.All counts are stll the same they are just showing Unique Visitor Count and NOT Total Page Load Count
